ARTISTS
AKA MOON
Part of the European scene since 1992, Aka Moon is one of the true legendary jazz bands still active. Always surprising and adventurous, their sound is unique and recognisable, full of fruitful harmonies and polyrhythmic craftsmanship.
As a bassist with an own musical vocabulary and rich musical spectrum, Anneleen is a founding member of LABtrio, band leader of the outstanding new project Grand Picture Palace, a solo performer and side woman in many other bands.
ANTOINE PIERRE
One of Belgium's most versatile drummers. Simultaneously active as composer and band leader, (URBEX & Next.Ape), solo artist (VAAGUE) and side man in dozens of projects, Antoine Pierre delivers every time in a unique way.
DE BEREN GIEREN
In the space between expectation and surprise you will find De Beren Gieren, providing robust evidence that gold can still be mined from the union of piano, bass and drums. The band has released six records - and counting - in their almost twelve-year career.
COMPRO ORO
Vibraphone-fronted Ghent based five piece, drawing inspiration from Latin, psychedelic, jazz, global and other grooves. Latest album 'Simurg' was a collaboration with Murat Ertel (BaBa ZuLa), the upcoming one is loaded with synths and Western vibes.
ECHOES OF ZOO
Echoes Of Zoo is a band with a unique sound, under the high tension of Middle Eastern rock music with the striking complexity of West African percussion and a few Dub flavors, all in the service of psychedelic jazz played with a punk attitude!
ESINAM
Multi-instrumentalist Esinam Dogbatse succesfully blends her soulful voice with traditional African percussion, adding here and there some electronic influences combined with sensible melodies and flute improvisations. She plays both solo as 'one woman band' as with her full band.
GUILLAUME VIERSET
Guillaume Vierset has become an indispensable figure in Belgium’s music scene. He stands out as a leader and sideman in several projects that have marked the international scene (Harvest Group, LG Jazz Collective, Typh Barrow, Sacha Toorop, Thomas Champagne, Emily Allison, Bravo Big Band etc…).
JEAN-PAUL
ESTIÉVENART
During his a 15-years career, Jean-Paul Estiévenart became the most versatile and demanded trumpet player in Belgium, with more than 40 albums and collaborations with many international artists such as Enrico Pieranuzzi, Nathalie Loriers and Avishai Cohen to his credit.
Pianist, band leader, composer for opera and theatre and more, Kris Defoort is a major figure in the European scene.
KRIS DEFOORT
LABTRIO
LABtrio (Lander – Anneleen – Bram) are three musicians with strong personalities, endowed with a fresh and adventurous approach to music. The trio’s acoustic universe conceals an urban jazz that flirts with electronic, underground and hip-hop cultures.
NABOU
CLAERHOUT
Trombone player and composer Nabou Claerhout brings a unique new sound to the European jazz scene, thanks to her refreshing trombone sound, innovative effects and original approach of compositions. With her quartet N∆BOU, solo or in other formations: always grasping.
STEIGER
This trio eagerly explores the outer margins of jazz and dive into other universes (contemporary music, electronica, pop, free improvisation, …), but basically also remain faithful to the genre’s long-standing core principle; that of a flexible transformation.
